Join us at the George Jones Memorial Farm for our inaugural season of events! From hikes to workshops, to science experiments and bonfires, there’s something for everyone. Kicking off in May, 2025, George Jones Memorial Farm will invite folks to visit and explore beyond the farm yard, venturing into our wetland preserve, woods, and learning about the wealth of biodiversity which makes our farm such a special place. We can’t wait to see you!
What You Can Expect
Guided Hikes
Our guided hiking series at George Jones Farm and Wetland Preserve has something for everyone. These hikes will venture out beyond our learning garden and farm, and explore the wetlands, woods, and hidden worlds that surround us. We offer seasonal guided hikes, and Birding 101. Each hike will focus on a new topic, so join for all and learn something new each time!
Farm Labs
Dig deep into the science behind all things farming. These farm labs will take a deep dive into some of the most important parts of farming and growing food, and explore why it’s important to understand. These labs aren’t just geared towards children and families, and are an exciting way to learn more about what’s going on in your garden, home, and ecosystem.
Workshops
Come learn new skills or refine old ones at George Jones Farm! These workshops will include a learning portion, and a hands on activity, and all will come with a take home component.
Sales and Celebrations
After a long day of farming is done, it’s important to celebrate all we’ve accomplished. Join us for a more festive, fun, and relaxed time at the George Jones Farm, or come to the plant sale and support our New Farmers as they begin their own farm businesses.

George Jones Memorial Farm is located one mile East of Oberlin’s main campus, at 44333 State Route OH-511, Oberlin, OH 44074. We are most easily accessible by car, and are near multiple major highways. Don’t drive, or want to lower your environmental impact? We have ample bike parking and storage too!
